Lil' Dragons Karate (Ages 4 to 7)
In the Lil Dragons classes, your child will be exposed to positive social interaction. They will learn how to work with others and follow directions from their instructors. Our Lil Dragon Instructors are good role models who are trained specifically to work with children of this age group.

The Lil Dragons curriculum consists of developing 8 Major Skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. The curriculum also contains 8 Lil Dragons Personal Development Skills that are used to reinforce family values. Upon completion of our Lil Dragons Program, your child will become focused and motivated to achieve any goal they set in life!
Junior Karate (ages 8 to 12)
RESPECT, DISCIPLINE AND CONTROL are three areas that are taught and stressed from the beginning. RESPECT is shown in the Martial Arts in a variety of ways. All classes commence with a formal bow to show respect and appreciation of our instructors. Polite greetings and proper mannerisms are other ways we demonstrate respect, in and out of the school.

DISCIPLINE is important for a student to gain proper progress. One must develop the discipline to attend classes on a regular basis and to put forth the necessary effort in class. Discipline to stick to one's goal is part of your learning process.

CONTROL is stressed to insure that the Martial Arts is never misused or abused. A student must also learn about breathing control, emotional control, and control of one's actions and attitudes. Most of our student's attend an average of two to three classes per week. We ask that all of our students promote a good image for the Martial Arts and be a positive representation of our philosophies. Training and practice should always be in a suitable area. Showing off or demonstrating skills in public areas is discouraged. Karate is for defense only!

Students should never use their skills for offensive purposes. Skills should only be used for protection of self or loved ones.
Teen & Adult Karate (Ages 13 & up)
At the Teen level (ages 12 to 17 years) Training becomes more focused and serious. At the Adult level (ages 18 and up) Training becomes more focused and serious. We offer a tempered martial arts workout. We also offer Lessons in Mindfulness, a comprehensive adult program which supplements your physical martial arts training.

In the Adult and Teen Programs you can enroll on any of the following 3 membership levels and take advantage of all the great training Georgian Martial Arts Academy has to offer.

Basic Membership (Yellow Belt Club)
Students train twice per week learning basic karate skills and self-defense.

Black Belt Club Membership
Students have the option to train 3 times per week on a slightly accelerated program. Black Belt Club members enjoy bo staff training and freestyle sparring.

Leadership Training (Special Winning Attitude Team)
Students have the option to train in unlimited classes. The ranking system and role modeling of the Martial Arts is an ideal environment for teaching leadership skills. Through theoretical classes and practical application, leadership members learn valuable skills which they can transfer into their academic, personal and professional lives.

Martial Arts Education as a career is a valuable and rewarding occupation. The life effecting benefits we provide to people are immeasurable, and make for a fulfilling vocation. Through our SWAT Training Program, we teach qualifying students everything they need to know to become a successful Martial Arts Instructor. These skills may translate into a career in teaching martial arts and maybe owning their own branch martial arts school. Or these skills may supplement an already successful career in other areas. This is a highly endorsed program which provides ample opportunity for personal growth and development.
Kickboxing Fitness (Ages 13 & up)
Fitness Kickboxing is high energy, explosive, exciting and motivating. It's the non-contact kickboxing workout that takes the music, excitement and energy of an aerobics workout and does it one better.
With Fitness Kickboxing you will tone your thighs, buttocks, hips, arms, calves, etc. while learning valuable self-defense techniques like jabbing, kicking, punching and blocking.

Try our Fitness Kickboxing Class RISK-FREE for one week. We offer flexible class times with up to 6 classes per week, as well as daytime classes.
GRAJUKABO (Ages 18 & up)
Self Defense Training
Sensei Shawn instructs the GRAJUKABO course at Georgian Martial Arts Academy and has studied a variety of martial arts including karate, jiu jutsu, grappling and self defense since 1986. Shawn achieved the rank of Shodan from his Sensei George Ford, who continues to instruct at his dojo in Montreal, Quebec.

Shawn is also a certified personal trainer and has trained clients at a number of different gyms. Having spent the better part of a decade working in the security industry, Sensei Shawn has developed a course designed to meet the growing need for self-defense in our growing community.

Sensei Shawn also provides valuable training for law and security students, police, and security personnel at a number of different establishments in Barrie.

The GRAJUKABO course at Georgian Martial Arts Academy is a practical, realistic approach to studying a variety of different styles to achieve the most effective tools for self defense purposes.
